Keep Maine Healthy Ambassador

This is an opportunity for full- or part-time employment for the visitor seasons. As an ambassador you will play an integral role in the re-opening of the state of Maine by keeping residents and visitors healthy and safe. As an ambassador you will engage with visitors in high-traffic places in tourist destinations and welcome visitors, share information related to COVID-10 symptoms and best practices for staying healthy, and advise on where to find available health resources. Professional Education Online

SMCC is providing 500 FREE Professional Education Online licenses (grant-funded) to qualified applicants. These online courses give you the opportunity to advance your career on your own schedule. Access over 5,000 noncredit online courses and certifications in areas like business, customer service, data and analytics, desktop publishing, digital skills, finance, HR and legal, IT, marketing and digital skills, and more!

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Computer Training

Are you interested in learning software development skills to enhance your career or start a new one? If so, this course could be for you. Upon successful completion students will be AWS Certified Cloud Practitioners Classes run Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. from October 14-December 16. Contact us for more information.

Construction Institute

The Construction Institute provides easy access short-term training in five core construction skills. Start your career now or apply these courses toward a college degree. Whatever your plan is, we will help you get there! Courses include Building Concepts & Leveling, Construction Print Reading, Construction Safety, Tool Safety, Resume Writing, Framing Methods and Interview Skills. Customer Service Consultant Online Training Course

In partnership with Wayfair
Are you interested in learning professional skills to begin a career in customer service? If so, SMCC’s Customer Service Consultant Online Training Course could be for you. Learn Google Suite technical skills, IT troubleshooting, time management & organization skills, interviewing best practices and more. Introduction to Hospitality Apprenticeship

This is a paid apprenticeship where you will do coursework online and work at a lodging establishment or restaurant in Maine. Through this apprenticeship you can earn up to 21 college credits while learning skills that are vital to the hospitality industry. Course being in October and are funded by the Maine Quality Centers.

Manufacturing Technician Training

In partnership with General Dynamics – Bath Iron Works
Get training in blueprint reading, technical math, hand & power tool operation and safety, operation of air tools, oxy cutting, tack welding, basic layout, lifting & material handling, drilling, fastening and more. Medical Assistant Apprentice Opportunity

In partnership with Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC) and Maine Medical Partners (MMP)
This all-expense paid, accelerated program will provide you with paid, on the job training and mastery of MA skills learned in the classroom. Participants will work part-time in a physician practice while attending class at SMCC, perform their externship hours, and prepare to take their CMA or RMA exam upon completion of the program. NorDx Phlebotomy School

In partnership with Maine Health/NorDx
Learn to be a Phlebotomist in just 6 weeks, while you get paid full-time. This course is designed to provide students with the clinical knowledge and competency to become a highly skilled Phlebotomist and the opportunity to earn while you learn.
