Get Active & Stay Fit

The Athletics and Recreation program is a vital part of the SMCC community. SMCC’s SeaWolves athletic teams are dedicated to excellence, teamwork and respect. The best part? You don’t have to be an athlete to join in.

How to Play a Sport

Oftentimes students are recruited by the SMCC coaching staff. We encourage high school students interested in playing on a collegiate athletic team to visit the SeaWolves Athletics website and complete a “Recruit Me” form online. You can also contact our Athletics Office directly. For contact information, visit our SeaWolves Athletics Office Directory webpage. Open tryouts are also offered for all SeaWolves teams.

Show Your SeaWolves Pride

It’s never too early to join the SeaWolves fan base! Whether you’re thinking about attending SMCC or are a family or community member who wants to show school spirit, we encourage you to attend athletics games and events. Games against rivals like Central Maine Community College (CMCC) are an especially popular time for the SMCC community to rally support around its student athletes.

To view a list of current athletics games and events, visit the SeaWolves Athletics website.

SeaWolves Athletic Club

The nonprofit SeaWolves Athletic Club provides financial support for SMCC’s intercollegiate athletic programs. Through fundraising, the club helps improve the college’s facilities and equipment to give SMCC student-athletes the best possible athletics experience.

Fitness & Recreation

SMCC offers many opportunities for our students to get involved, connect with peers and stay active within our recreational offerings.

We welcome new ideas for intramural and club sport or fitness offerings. Once you’re a student, talk to our Athletics and Recreation Office about your ideas and they’ll be happy to help you out.

The South Portland Campus

The College’s South Portland campus has an active fitness center and locker rooms that are available to all faculty, staff and students.
