Quality & Affordable Care for Children Ages 3-5
The Spring Point Children’s Center on SMCC’s South Portland Campus provides quality and affordable childcare to 3- to 5-year-old children of SMCC students, faculty, staff and the general public. The Center works in conjunction with the Early Childhood Education program and serves as a lab setting for college students. Here, you’ll find a caring, exciting and hands-on environment for your loved ones to learn and grow.

Enrollment & Pricing
Spring Point Children’s Center maintains an average adult to child ratio of 1 to 7. Full- and part-time enrollment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the Center is at capacity, a wait list is available for those who are interested.
Spring Point Children’s Center is licensed by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and maintains a “Step 4 Certificate of Quality,” the highest level on Maine’s DHHS “Quality for ME” quality rating and improvement system. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). To learn more, visit the NAEYC website.

The Spring Point Children’s Center is staffed by three lead teachers and a director. The Center is visited by our Early Childhood Education students and used as a “lab” to exemplify quality and appropriate practices.
