Do you think SMCC is right for you? If so, it’s time to apply. SMCC has rolling admissions so you can apply anytime before the start of the semester you’re planning to attend. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible as courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Steps to Apply

  1. Check out our academic programs webpage to get an overview of our degree and certificate programs.
  2. Submit the following materials to the SMCC Admissions Office.

  1. Complete the English & Math Accuplacer tests (if applicable). Students who have the following test scores and/or previous college coursework are exempt from the English portion of the ACCUPLACER and will be placed into college-level English.
    • SAT: 450 or greater Verbal/Critical Reading
    • ACT: 21 or greater Composite
    • Successful completion of a college-level English Composition course from a regionally accredited institution
Students who have the following test scores and/or previous college coursework are exempt from the Math portion of the ACCUPLACER and will be placed into college-level math.
    • SAT: 490 or greater Math
    • ACT: 21 or greater Composite
    • Successful completion of a college-level mathematics courses from a regionally accredited institution

Finding Out If You’ve Been Accepted

Keep your eye out for an acceptance letter in the mail. With this you’ll receive our Guide for Accepted Students, which will walk you through any steps you need to take before attending. You can also download SMCC’s Guide for Accepted students.

Acceptance letters generally arrive 2 weeks after your application is complete. We’ll also send a letter if you’re missing any requirements to be accepted and let you know how to complete them.
