SMCC students Phyllis Mazzaglia and Claudia Johnson have been named to the All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges by the Phi Theta Kappa organization.
Mazzaglia and Johnson are among 18 students at Maine’s seven community colleges who have been named to the team. The award includes a $500 scholarship from the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.
Mazzaglia is from Londonderry, N.H., and is on track to earn a degree in Criminal Justice this spring. She earned a Fire Science degree in 2017.
Johnson is from Islesboro and is on track to earn a Liberal Studies degree in May.
The All-Maine Academic team is a program of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year students. Students are nominated and selected for the team by their college based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service.
