SMCC employees recognized for years of service

Dozens of employees were recognized May 6 at SMCC’s annual employee recognition ceremony for reaching milestones in their service or retirement. Employees who were honored included:

Thirty-five years of service: Craig Carney (Heating, AC, Refrigeration and Plumbing).

Retiring: Janet Brennan (Radiography); Alice Cousins (Spring Point Children’s Center); Nancy Smith (Nursing); Mildred Spain (Computer Technology); and George Ward III (Facilities Management).

Mobbs, Jackson named sports persons of the year

Danielle Mobbs and Sean Jackson have been named SMCC’s sports persons of the year.

Danielle, who plays softball, and Sean, who plays soccer, were honored with the Carroll Rines Awards at the annual Athletics Awards banquet on May 5.

Other honorees were:

  • Aime Worcester (soccer), most improved athlete.
  • John Morgan (basketball), Timothy Hagerman Scholarship award.
  • Business Professor Mark Reuscher, athletic supporter of the year.
