Communications & New Media Studies students showcase talent in two spring events

Southern Maine Community College’s (SMCC) Communications & New Media Studies (CNMS) program is concluding the semester with two events that showcase the creativeCNMS Senior Showcase 11 (2) accomplishments of our students, ranging from multimedia design to original films. These events reflect the depth, versatility, and professional focus of SMCC’s CNMS program.

Senior Portfolio Showcase

Monday, May 6 | 5–6 p.m. | McKernan Center

The Senior Portfolio course culminates in a showcase of students’ semester-long projects, spanning graphic design, photography, web development, and more. Occurring each semester, this event is a reverse job fair where guests can experience student work firsthand. Professionals connected to the SMCC community, or anyone who knows someone who would benefit from the talents of our amazing students, are encouraged to register and attend.

Maine Mayhem Film Festival

Wednesday, May 8 | Evening Screening | Nickelodeon Cinemas, Portland

Later in the week, CNMS film students take center stage at the 15th annual Maine Mayhem Film Festival, a celebration of student-produced films. Open to the public, this event is the culmination of months of storytelling and production work, offering a unique opportunity to experience the next generation of Maine filmmakers.
