Students, their friends and family, and SMCC alumni are invited to attend a variety of events and connect with the SMCC community. This week promises to be fun-filled and energetic. Don’t miss out.

Tuesday, September 22

SMCC Midcoast Campus Homecoming Block Party
4 – 7 p.m.
Join the SMCC Midcoast Campus Students, Staff, Family, Friends, and Brunswick Landing Partners in our block party of food, fun, and connection for the whole community. The block party will include lawn games, kids activities and crafts, snow cone and popcorn machine as well as El Rodeo Food truck. Check out several of our tables where you can meet our Admissions and Academic program teams, workforce program demonstrations, community partners, pictures with “Wolfie”, some great giveways and SMCC swag!
Wednesday, September 23

Lobster Remix
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the SMCC Oceanview Dining Hall – South Portland
12-15 local chefs will compete for the most creative lobster roll. All proceeds to support Maine Lobstermen’s Relief Fund. This is a ticketed event.
Thursday, September 24

Sodexo Dining Services and SMCC Student Life Sponsored Patio Party
5 – 7 p.m. at the SMCC Oceanview Dining Hall – South Portland
Join the SMCC Student Life Team and our food service provider Sodexo Dining Services for an evening featuring a Karaoke Bar event, mocktails and a variety of appetizers, s’mores by the fire, and lawn games. Students on the meal plan are free, general public can pay at the door with a ticket price of $12.00.
Friday, September 25

SMCC Homecoming Golf Tournament
9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Chebeague Island
11 Foursomes (44 participants) | $150 Per Person Entry Fee
A great opportunity for golf enthusiasts and supporters of the College, this SMCC Foundation signature event offers a truly memorable experience. Enjoy a scenic cruise pick-up from campus to Chebeague Island, where participants will take part in a golf tournament on its picturesque 9-hole course. The day concludes with a return cruise to campus followed by a post-event social at the McKernan Inn. Space is limited.

SMCC Athletics Hosts Women’s Volleyball Match vs Great Bay C.C.
5 p.m. at the SMCC HUB Athletic Center
Come support your Seawolves as they take on the Herron’s of Great Bay Community College in a Yankee Small College Conference volleyball matchup. During the game there will be crowd engagement opportunities with “Wolfie” the official mascot of the Seawolves and raffle. Enjoy our concession stand and stop by our SMCC vintage uniform sale to pick up former SeaWolves gear and show your SMCC pride.

SMCC Open House
8 – 12 p.m. at the South Portland Campus
SMCC’s annual Fall Open House on the South Portland Campus provides prospective students and their families with an opportunity to explore the college’s academic programs and admissions process. Guests can participate in guided campus tours, connect with faculty and staff, and experience the vibrant campus community. SMCC—Built for You!
- 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. – Check-in/Registration (HUB Lawn Space)
- 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. – Welcome from President Miller, Schedule overview with Admissions (HUB Gym)
- 9:15 – 10:00 a.m. – Admissions/Student Supports Presentation (Jewett Auditorium) OR Campus Tour (Departs from Campus Center)
- 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. – Academic Program Presentation Session #1 (at buildings/locations designated by the academic departments) OR Admissions/Student Supports Presentation (Jewett Auditorium)
- 11:15 AM – 12:00 p.m. – Academic Program Presentation Session #2 (at buildings/locations designated by the departments) OR Campus Tour (Departs from Campus Center)
- 12:00 p.m. – Formal programming ends – Lunch BBQ open to all open house attendees / attend baseball, softball games, etc.

Come support your SeaWolves as they take on the Moose of University of Maine-Augusta in baseball and softball action at SMCC’s Graves Field. Enjoy our concession stand and stop by our SMCC vintage uniform sale to pick up former SeaWolves gear and show your SMCC pride.

SMCC Fall Festival Sponsored by SMCC Student Life
12 – 3 p.m.
Join us for our annual Fall Festival, featuring a Student Club and Activities Fair along with a wide array of fun-filled, carnival-style attractions. Enjoy cotton candy and snow cones from the Culinary Arts Club, a popcorn station with assorted toppings, caricature artists, a petting zoo, axe throwing, a mechanical bull, and a giant obstacle course.
The Student Club and Activities Fair will showcase the vibrant opportunities available at SMCC — giving students, families, and friends the chance to explore campus organizations, connect with student leaders, and discover ways to get involved throughout the year.
Campus-wide BBQ will be offered and open to students, family, and friends.
Seaside Social Sponsored by the SMCC Foundation
5:30 – 8 p.m. at The McKernan Inn
Join the campus community for a night of great food, drinks and socializing with the campus community. Ticket Price $35 per person. Enjoy music by DJ Shane Long, fire pits and Adirondack chairs with great views of Casco Bay. Cash Bar provided by Sodexo Dining Services (all guests receive complimentary drink ticket).
