U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree visited the Southern Maine Community College Midcoast Campus in Brunswick on Monday to see the campus’ facilities, learn more about its academic programs and meet with students.

During her visit, she toured the campus’ L.L.Bean Learning Commons and Health Science Center, Orion Residence Hall and the Maine Advanced Technology and Engineering Center, where she met with Composite Science & Manufacturing students and faculty.

The SMCC Midcoast Campus, which opened in 2011, is located at Brunswick Landing, site of the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. The campus currently has nearly 600 students.
