SMCC students’ artwork on display at Cape Elizabeth gallery

Students graduating from Southern Maine Community College’s art program are exhibiting their artwork at a Cape Elizabeth gallery.

Four students who are graduating in May will showcase a variety of their work from April 20 through May 4 at Ocean House Gallery, located at 299 Ocean House Road. An artists’ reception will be held Friday, April 27, from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

The students who are exhibiting their works are:

  • Vincent Amoroso of South Portland is presenting mixed media works reflecting elements of popular music of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.
  • Jennifer Emrich of Yarmouth is showing graphic silkscreen prints with an environmental focus, as well as handmade dolls.
  • Oliva White of South Portland is exhibiting oil paintings on glass windows with a focus on the natural world.
  • And Zeynep Yurtsever of Austin, Texas, is displaying oil paintings that focus on the beauty and kindness of animals used in industrial animal farming.
