What is the National First-Generation College Celebration?
Colleges and universities across the U.S. participate in the National First-Generation College Celebration, launched in 2017 by the Council for Opportunity in Education and the Center for First-Generation Student Success.
This is an event to recognize the strengths and contributions of our first-generation students and their supporters in celebration of National FIRST-GEN DAY! First-generation students are the first in their families to attend college, and this is an amazing but often challenging journey. To learn more about being First-Generation, visit the First Gen Forward website.
