Southern Maine Community College is offering more than 250 courses and workshops over the summer months for people working toward a degree or seeking to expand their professional skills or begin new careers.
Open registration for credit courses begins March 20, with classes offered at SMCC’s South Portland Campus, Midcoast Campus in Brunswick and online. The summer term runs from May 30 through Aug. 18.
People who want to take credit summer classes and aren’t seeking to earn a degree from SMCC don’t need to apply. For more information about classes and how to register, visit www.smccME.edu/summer. In-state tuition for most classes is less than $300.
The college also offers a variety of affordable noncredit classes and workshops in various formats through its Continuing Studies program. Summer offerings will be posted at www.smccME.edu/continuingstudies in late April.
“Summer is a great time to take a class that’s good toward a degree at SMCC or that can be transferred to another college or university,” said SMCC President Ron Cantor. “It’s also a good time to explore other offerings whether you’re looking to start a new career, enhance your professional skills or explore your creative talents.”
