Registration begins March 1 for Fall Semester, time to prepare

With Fall Semester registration beginning March 1, now is the time to prepare.

Advising Month, which kicks off March 1 and runs all month, is the time SMCC doubles down to help students succeed. Students should review their degree audit, meet with a faculty or staff advisor, ask questions about which classes to take, and plan ahead before registering.

Registration for fall begins:
• Tuesday, March 1, for current students with 30 or more credits, and veterans
• Thursday, March 3, for current students with fewer than 30 credits

Staff advisors are available for help anytime during normal business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday) at 207-741-5835 or advising@smccME.edu, or by text at 207-535-8094.

Students can schedule phone, Zoom or in-person appointments with staff advisors by going to My Maine Guide>My Degree>Meet the Advising Office. They can also drop into any of seven Zoom advising sessions throughout March; check the MySMCC portal for times, dates and links.

For the best selection of classes, students should register as soon as possible. Open registration for fall begins April 4, and classes begin in late August.

Registration for summer classes also begins March 1 for current degree-seeking students with 30-plus credits and veterans, and on March 3 for current students with fewer than 30 credits. Open registration for summer begins March 14, and classes begin May 31.
