Plan, Prepare, and Register: Spring and Summer Registration Now Open

November is Advising Month at Southern Maine Community College, which means it’s time to plan, prepare, and register for the Spring and Summer semesters.ADVISING (1080 x 1080 px)

Whether you’re continuing your studies, completing your degree, or just getting started, SMCC’s advising team is here to help you make a plan that fits your goals, schedule, and pathway.

Registration Dates

  • Starting Monday, October 27 – Students with 30 or more credits and veteran students
  • Starting Wednesday, October 29 – Students with less than 30 credits

Now is the perfect time to plan, prepare, and register for the semester ahead. Advisors are available to help you confirm your course selections, review your degree progress, and make sure you’re on track to graduate on time.

How to Plan, Prepare, and Register

  1. Check in with an Advisor

Connect with your advisor to make sure you’re taking the right courses for your program and career goals.

If you have a pathway advisor (24 credits or fewer): book an appointment with your Pathway Advisor.
If you have a faculty mentor (24 credits or more): reach out by email, phone, or visit during office hours.

  1. Attend a Drop-In Registration Lab

Advising staff will be available to assist you with registering for classes during Drop-In Registration Labs, held on the first floor of Ross Technology Center on the South Portland Campus:

• Wednesday, October 29 – 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
• Thursday, October 30 – 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
• Friday, October 31 – 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Prefer to stop by during open hours? Drop-in advising is also available in the South Portland Campus Center Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Midcoast Campus students can meet with an advisor at the L.L. Bean Learning Commons on:
• Wednesdays: 12 p.m.–4 p.m.
• Fridays: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Please note: there will be no drop-in advising November 3–7.
