Oscar Mayer Wienermobile brings fun and flavor to SMCC

SMCC was buzzing with excitement as the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile rolled onto campus Friday, Nov. 15, drawing a crowd of hundreds for a thrilling hot dog eating contest featuring students and faculty. The event, organized by SMCC’s L. Joe Van Why School of Hospitality staff, served up plenty of laughs, competition, and delicious hot dogs crafted by SMCC’s Culinary Arts students.

The contest saw nearly 20 students and three employees race to devour as many hot dogs as possible in three minutes.

Participants in the contest were:

Students: Kameron Caron, Ben Daku, Jude Wilson, Emma Lavallee, Clayton Davis, Gabbi Perry, Zeke McIntire, Teddy Becker, Tyler Collins, Austin Whitney, Royal Kloberdans, Kris Gendron, Charlotte Nason, Eammon Carey, and Hale Rowe.

Employees: Parker Auger, Corey Norman, and Caleb Richards.

Communications & New Media Studies instructor Corey Norman emerged victorious among the staff and Tyler Collins, taking the top spot for students. The pair now hold the title of SMCC Hot Dog Eating Champions.

Oscar Mayer representatives added to the fun, handing out collectible Weeniewhistles and stickers while encouraging participants to support the ongoing campus food donations.
