Conditionally Admitted Students
Frequently Asked Questions
Congratulations on being Conditionally Admitted to SMCC! If you are wondering what this means and what is next, you are in the right place!
What does Conditionally Admitted mean?
This means that SMCC has accepted your admissions application submission and would like to assist you in the process to become an official Seawolf.
What should I do next after receiving my admitted with conditions notification?
Submit your class registration requirements. Visit your application portal at www.smccME.edu/applicationportal and upload the requirements listed. To log in, use the email address and password you originally provided on the application.
Important: This must be completed in order for you to register for your first classes at SMCC.
What to expect when uploading documents in the portal?
Upon successful upload of the requirement(s), the status will automatically update to Pending. If more information is needed from you, notes will be added to the requirement for your review/action. Once the requirement has been reviewed AND approved, the status will be changed to “Received”. The Admissions Office will do their best to review your uploads within 5-7 business days.
What happens after all registration requirements have been reviewed and approved?
Once all requirements have been received and approved, you will receive both and email and a text message notification to let you know your application portal has been updated. In the portal you will be able to access a copy of your acceptance letter.
Once accepted, you will also receive an email from IT Help (ithelp@mainecc.edu) with instructions on claiming your @mainecc.edu email address.
Once you have been fully accepted, you can explore the options available on our New Student Advising webpage for next steps including registering for classes.
