About our Liberal Studies
Associate Degree: Sociology Focus
Do you ever wonder how society works and what makes you “you”? Are you curious about the role of schools, families, and culture in shaping the people around you? The Liberal Studies: Sociology Focus degree helps you understand these connections and prepares you for a variety of careers. You’ll explore topics like cultural norms, inequality, and how societies change over time. Along the way, you’ll develop valuable skills in critical thinking, research, and communication—whether you plan to transfer to a four-year school or start your career right away.
The curriculum is built on a foundation of general education classes, supplemented with elective courses that focus heavily on relevant coursework with some specialization.
Please note: You are only eligible to receive one Associate in Arts in Liberal Studies degree. You may not receive a second or subsequent degree in Liberal Studies with a different focus.
