Spring Point Children's Center was established in January of 1992 by the SMCC campus community to provide quality and affordable child care to 3-5 year old children of SMCC students, faculty and staff members. In the event that there is space available after meeting the needs of the campus community, the children's center will open to the general public. Full and part-time enrollment is available on a first come first serve basis.
Spring Point Children's Center works in conjunction with the SMCC Early Childhood Education Program serving as a laboratory setting for college students by providing a learning opportunity in a child care center which exemplifies quality and appropriate practice.
Spring Point Children's Center is licensed by the State of Maine Department of Human Services and accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. NAEYC accreditation is a rigorous, voluntary process by which early childhood programs demonstrate that they consistently meet the national standards of excellence.
