Peer tutoring by 2nd year SMCC students is available in technology, health and science courses.

Need a Tutor?

Are you a 1st-year student who would like to get peer tutoring in a technology course? If you're interested in studying with a peer tutor, please come to the Academic Achievement Center and fill out a request for tutoring. There is usually a four-hour limit of tutoring per course per week.

Become a Tutor

Are you a 2nd-year student who would like to tutor a freshman in your program? If you're interested in working as a peer tutor, please come to the Academic Achievement Center and ask for a Peer Application Form. Complete the form and leave it with Academic Achievement Center faculty or staff. In order to qualify as a peer tutor, you must have earned an A in the requested course and have the recommendation of the instructor who teaches that course. You will receive payment, have the added benefit of knowing you're helping out a fellow student, and learn the material even better yourself as you teach it!
