With your donation, SMCC can continue to change the lives of thousands of Mainers and build a stronger economy.

{Opportunity}
Southern Maine Community College is a thriving, vibrant and flourishing learning community. As Maine’s third largest higher education institution, SMCC is playing a vital role in building a stronger more prosperous future for our students and our state.
Every year, SMCC opens the doors of higher education to thousands of Mainers who are seeking the opportunity to pursue a college education. SMCC increases access to college by offering low tuition rates ($2,520 instate; $5,040 out-of-state) and financial support through scholarships. In addition, we provide the personalized guidance and support necessary to ensure that all our students have the opportunity to succeed.
{Innovation}
SMCC is a responsive, agile and innovative institution. We continuously strive to match our education programs with the evolving and expanding needs of Maine businesses and entrepreneurs. As a result, SMCC’s education programs directly support job growth and economic development. We are transforming individual lives while increasing the skills of the Maine workforce.
In an effort to re-train, re-skill and re-employ Maine workers, SMCC is developing intensive, accelerated degree programs. These programs would utilize nights, weekends and a special summer semester to enable working students to earn a college degree in 15 months in high-demand job sectors like nursing. SMCC’s nursing program is recognized as one of the highest-quality programs in the state and is one of only two colleges to achieve a 100% student pass rate on the national certification exam. {Transformation}
This year, SMCC is undergoing its own important transformation. Following the closing of the Brunswick Naval Air Station and the loss of thousands of jobs, SMCC is working to establish a new higher education center on the Base that will serve as a vital economic engine for the region and the state. Our College is working in collaboration with Maine businesses and the University of Maine to provide critical education programs in the sectors of manufacturing, composites, engineering, advanced energy systems, heavy equipment and more.
