New Residence Hall

SMCC has built a new, 320-bed residence hall on the corner of Fort Road and Benjamin Picket St., across from the Campus Center. The new hall opened for the Spring 2008 semester and is the centerpiece of overnight conference & retreats during the summer months. Panoramic views from the fourth floor include Casco Bay, Portland Headlight and the Portland skyline. The new hall houses men and women in double and single rooms with connecting private shower and bath facilities (two rooms with two or four guests of the same gender sharing a bath, depending on your budget).

The new hall is staffed with student Resident Assistants and a professional, live-in Resident Director. Each room includes an extra long twin bunkable bed, desk, desk chair and wardrobe with drawers for each resident and a microwave - refrigerator - freezer combination unit for each room. The New Hall is equipped with a front desk, which is open 24/7 when the building is fully occupied. Upon reservation, there are also a meeting room and three study rooms in the building.

Surfsite Hall

Surfsite Hall houses 93 men and women on three floors, including three student Resident Assistants and a professional, live-in Resident Director. Surfsite Hall is located diagonally up the hill from the H.U.B. Gymnasium on Surfsite Road.

Surfsite Hall has two common areas for guests to study in groups or alone. Each room comes with an extra long twin bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk and desk chair for each resident and a microwave - refrigerator - freezer combination unit for each room. There is one bathroom on each floor that is used by the guests of that floor. Surfsite is an ideal setting for visiting student organizations and athletic camps.
