 SMCC is renowned as a regional leader in education and community
development, and its breathtaking campus provides an ideal location for
Portland-area meetings and destination events. The College is one of
the most picturesque points on the Maine coast, located on the site of
the former Fort Preble overlooking landmarks including Portland Head
Light, the islands of Casco Bay, Fort Gorges, Spring Point Light and
the Portland City Skyline. Many of the College buildings are historic
structures that have been renovated to fulfill the educational mission
of the College. The campus covers 80 acres and includes 45 buildings
including residence halls, a hospitality center, dining accommodations,
athletic fields, beaches, state-of-the-art classroom facilities,
historical military fortifications, and a vibrant student community.
