Wireless TechnologyComplimentary wireless internet is offered to all visiting groups; password and access are included in your stay. The Ross Technology Center, located on Slocum Drive, contains a large drop-in computing lab open days, evenings, and weekends. Campus CenterThe Campus Center, the focal point of the campus, contains the College's library furnished with internet searching computers and access to electronic databases. Adjacent to the library is the Learning Assistance Center which also contains numerous PCs and a trained staff to assist users. LibraryThe Library is SMCC's visitor-friendly center for research, study, and casual reading resources. The Library is located in a beautiful setting on the second floor of the Campus Center, and is a viable quiet study location during corporate conferences and retreat.The physical layout of the Library is pleasant and varied and provides a choice of individual carrels, study tables, and internet workstations. Included within the library space is an enclosed group study/meeting room which is available for students to reserve. Students are welcome to browse through the Library's books and periodicals which are on open stacks and easily accessible. All students are encouraged to visit the Library and make its resources a part of their learning experience while attending the College. Athletic FacilitiesThe college maintains both a fitness center and a weight room for use by the SMCC community. The fitness room comes complete with treadmills, stationary and recumbent bikes, elliptical, and stair steppers. The weight room contains Body Master selectorized weight machines along with free weight machines.Athletic Center on Fort Road across from the Campus Center and Cates Building. Both facilities are located in the Hutchinson Union Building (HUB) Athletic Center on campus. ParkingSMCC provides ample parking for all visitors, yet is also a very busy and dynamic campus. In order to assure the safety and welfare of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors who bring their cars to campus, parking permits must be displayed at all times. Contact our Conferences & Events team for permits that can be e-mailed, printed and distributed to your attendees for their dashboards.Campus EventsOne of the benefits of hosting your retreat or conference at SMCC is access to public events including art exhibits, lectures, sporting events and functions hosted by the College.Portland Harbor MuseumFounded in 1987, Portland Harbor Museum is an exciting place to explore and celebrate the rich maritime history of Portland Harbor.Located on the South Portland waterfront, the museum lies within the granite walls of Fort Preble, adjacent to Spring Point Ledge Light. Bug Light and the Liberty Ship Memorial are less than a mile away. www.portlandharbormuseum.org/ Spring Point LighthouseSpring Point Lighthouse has the unique distinction of being the only caisson-style lighthouse accessible by land and open for public tours. The Spring Point Ledge Light Trust frequently holds Open Houses allowing the public to actually enter and explore the lighthouse. A small fee of $5.00 is charged to support the Trust's preservation efforts.

The Southern Maine Community College campus also has an established arboretum which was created and is maintained by the college, named the Shoreway Arboretum.
