For information concerning Veteran’s Administration (VA) benefits, students should contact the Student Services Office from which referrals will be made to the Veterans Administration in Togus, ME or Buffalo, NY. VA forms are available at the Student Services Office. Once completed, they are submitted to the VA by a Certifying Official.

Veteran Student’s responsibilities

  • Submit your schedule to the certifying official after registering for classes.
  • Inform the Certifying Official of any adds, drops or withdrawals from classes.
  • Inform the Certifying Official of any change in address, phone number or email.
  • Check in with the VA monthly (Chapters 30,1606 and 1607)

College and Certifying Official’s responsibilities

  • Certify veteran student for benefits with the VA.
  • Verify that courses have been completed.
  • Report any changes in status to the VA

Please also note:

  • The Certifying Official is not an employee of the VA or any branch of the Armed Forces.
  • The Certifying Official does not have direct access to or specific information regarding payment of benefits.
