The associate in arts degree in Liberal Studies education
concentration prepares students to transfer to a baccalaureate program
in education or liberal arts. The curriculum is built on a foundation
of general education classes, supplemented with elective courses that
focus heavily on relevant general education coursework with some
specialization in the area of teacher education. Students are
encouraged to choose elective courses in a discipline in which they may
major at the baccalaureate level, such as English, mathematics,
history, science, or other liberal arts disciplines. Transfer options
are available through the AdvantageU Program and also transfer to the
TEAMS program at the University of Southern Maine.
